National Adoption Month: engaging with youth

The theme for the 2019 National Adoption Month initiative is Youth Voices: Why Family Matters.

In this webinar, presenters discussed:

  • The importance of permanency for older youth
  • Lessons learned from Children’s Bureau grantees about engaging with youth on planning for adoption
  • Resources that can support your efforts to achieve permanency for older youth, including the National Adoption Month website

Participants also heard from youth and young adults about why family matters to them and the importance of being involved in their permanency planning.

The webinar was a collaboration of AdoptUSKids and Child Welfare Information Gateway on behalf of the Children’s Bureau.
