In this AdoptUSKids webinar, parents leading support groups will learn how to navigate their dual roles of group leader and parent.

The presenter will discuss the characteristics of successful peer leaders and methods to improve peer leadership skills. She’ll also share concrete strategies to cope with common challenges of peer leadership, such as secondary trauma, boundary-setting, and addressing sensitive or difficult topics.

Presenter: Sue Badeau is a nationally known speaker, writer, and consultant. She is a former president of the North American Council on Adoptable Children’s board of directors and current president of Justice for Families. She is also an adoptive parent and experienced parent group leader.

Audience: New or experienced parent group leaders, staff of public or private agencies that offer parent groups, and individuals considering starting parent groups.
