May is National Foster Care Month!

Date: Apr 30 - May 31

May is National Foster Care Month, a time to recognize the contributions of professionals and families in supporting children in care and raise awareness of the need for more families.

This year’s theme is “Foster Care as a Support to Families, Not a Substitute for Parents.” The Children’s Bureau is continuing to focus on how the child welfare community can support family connections and engage youth in permanency planning.

On the National Foster Care Month website, you’ll find inspiring stories to share, resources to help you support families and engage youth, and tools and statistics to help raise awareness.
